We visited a special friend in the hospital yesterday. A dear friend of ours, a strong man, a passionate man, yet on yesterday, he was a sick man.
We arrived to the hospital and he wasn't in his room. His wife was there so we decided to wait and chit chat with her until he returned. She told us the story about what brought him to the hospital. We listened, laughed and right before a tear rolled down our cheeks, he returned to the room.
Well, we learned that everything is truly going to be allright. He came to the hospital just in time. As we sat in our chairs talking to him, we watched his wife wipe his forehead, feed him lunch, straighten his blanket and rub his feet. At that moment, we had a real meaning of what God meant when he said, "To love one another in sickness and in health".
Loving one another during the good times and the bad is so powerful. God really knew what he was doing when he said,"It is not good for man to live alone".
It certainly was not good for this man, our friend, to be alone. For if he were alone, who would be there to wipe his forehead, feed him lunch, straigten his blanket or rub his feet?
Thank God for thinking about marriage!
Thank God for healing our friend!
And thank God for marriages to come!
May all marriages truly understand the real meaning of loving one another in sickness and in health!
