Sunday was a great day for us! We became official member of a church we have been attending for years. It was a long process to become a member. It was only a long process because we were extremely busy and preoccupied with other activities. We knew the importance of being members of a church, but we allowed the busyness of the days get in our way. Once our name was called to receive our membership cards, there was a sigh of relief and and a sense of accomplishment. We felt as if we were walking through God's golden gates!!
We have had so many life experiences together. But this experience was truly something special. You see, we were searching for a church home for a long, long time. When you are a child, church is just wherever your parents tell you to go on Sunday. When you become an adult and have more of a choice, well, you choose a church based on where you are spiritually in your life. At first we were seeking a church with a great choir. The message didn't matter as much, but the choir had to be "rockin." That was fine and dandy until we had children. As I children began to grow, we began to grow more in Christ. We decided as a couple that the choir was not as important as the message. I mean, if we could have both that would be a plus. We also needed to find a church with excellent youth and children's ministry. If we could find all of that under one roof, well, that would just be a miracle. We do beleive in miracles!!!
We have truly found everything we were looking for in a church, a real miracle!!
Everybody leaves church each Sunday full of the word and the spirit!!
It is official now! We are now officially part of a church family! Now, its really time for us to go to work for the Lord!

The power of touch
Never let a day go by without touching your spouse. It can be as simple as holding hands or rubbing his/her back. Just a nice brush against each other will work. But, be intentional about your touch. The power of touch is so amazing. It keeps the enemy out. It says to the other person, I am thinking about you more than you know. It shows love when there are so many challenges and obstacles you might be facing.
The power of touch, don't ever underestimate its strength. Try it today. Try it tomorrow. No, try it until death do us part!

In Sickness and in Health
We visited a special friend in the hospital yesterday. A dear friend of ours, a strong man, a passionate man, yet on yesterday, he was a sick man.
We arrived to the hospital and he wasn't in his room. His wife was there so we decided to wait and chit chat with her until he returned. She told us the story about what brought him to the hospital. We listened, laughed and right before a tear rolled down our cheeks, he returned to the room.
Well, we learned that everything is truly going to be allright. He came to the hospital just in time. As we sat in our chairs talking to him, we watched his wife wipe his forehead, feed him lunch, straighten his blanket and rub his feet. At that moment, we had a real meaning of what God meant when he said, "To love one another in sickness and in health".
Loving one another during the good times and the bad is so powerful. God really knew what he was doing when he said,"It is not good for man to live alone".
It certainly was not good for this man, our friend, to be alone. For if he were alone, who would be there to wipe his forehead, feed him lunch, straigten his blanket or rub his feet?
Thank God for thinking about marriage!
Thank God for healing our friend!
And thank God for marriages to come!
May all marriages truly understand the real meaning of loving one another in sickness and in health!

About Us
Jake and Vinita Reed have been married for 15 years.
God has blessed them with 2 beautiful children. They met in college where Jake was playing football and Vinita was a cheerleader.
The trials of marriage are many, but the reward is greater! We are so passionate about the marriage union. We desire to assist married couples in their wonderful journey while assisting each other. We believe in teamwork! It truly takes two to make a marriage work! We were inspired to help married couples upon witnessing the rise of divorce in our country. It is sad to see the family destroyed. Divorce hurts everybody! We believe that our marriage and your marriage is worth the fight. Don't allow your marriage to be destroyed! Put on your gloves and fight for it because it's worth it!
